Once a clinical trial was designed, conducted and trial data were collected, appropriate analysis of clinical trial data using appropriate statistical methodology is a critical step for a trial to answer clinical questions associated with the trial objectives. This talk will provide high level summary of clinical trial data analytic strategies for primary, secondary, exploratory efficacy endpoints and safety analysis. The estimand concept will be discussed with examples as well. Overall type I error rate control and missing data handling strategy in pivotal phase 3 trials will be specifically emphasized for primary and key secondary endpoints analysis in a pivotal trial. Sensitivity or supportive analysis of primary endpoint will be discussed as well. An Alzheimer’s disease trial example will be used to illustrate clinical trial data analytic strategies to conclude the presentation.
