Professor Jane-Ling Wang
Professor Wang received her Ph.D. in Statistics (1982) from the University of California at Berkeley and joined the Department of Statistics at the University of Iowa as an Assistant Professor. She moved to the University of California at Davis in 1984, was promoted to Professor in 1993, and served as the Chair of the Department from 1999 to 2003. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, a Fellow of the American Statistical Association, and the Medallion Lecture (2007) of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics.
Professor Wang has made broad contributions to the ICSA, starting from her elected membership on the Board of Directors (1993-95, 1997-99) and as the Program Chair of the IMS Asian and Pacific Regional Meeting in Taipei (1997). Since then, she has been on various ICSA committees, including Publication Committee, Membership Committee, and several program committees. She is the Co-Chair of the ICSA Constitution Committee (2010-2011); chaired the Committee for Student Awards, ICSA Applied Statistical Symposium (2009); and was the president of the ICSA in 2008. She was a co-chair Editor (2002-2005) and Associate Editor (1996-2001) of Statistica Sinica, and a member of the Committee to select editors for Statistica Sinica (2007 and 2010).
