About the Outstanding Young Researcher Award

The Outstanding Young Researcher Award is presented to young scholar(s) “In recognition of the outstanding research in statistical theory, methodology, and/or applications”.

Eligibility

Nominees must be ICSA members for at least the past year. Eligible nominees should have obtained their PhD degree or an equivalent degree in the past six years. For example, an individual eligible for 2021 must have received a doctoral degree dated 2015 or later.

Nomination Process

The nomination package shall be sent to the Award Committee Chair of the year with the subject entitled “Outstanding Young Researcher Award Nomination”. Nomination items can be sent as pdf, ps or plain text attachments. Nominator is responsible for preparing a complete package for the nominee that should contain the following:

  1. Nominee’s most recent curriculum vitae
  2. Cover letter from the nominator summarizing the nominee’s achievement in statistical research and/or applications

Additional nomination materials such as recommendation letters are encouraged but not required.

Deadline

The deadline for nomination will be announced by ICSA yearly.
